| We'll be spending 12 days in Maine--and most of our time will be on the coast and Acadia. We'd like to go somewhere for the last couple of days where we can experience the Maine woods and maybe see some of the wildlife--moose, fox, etc. Nice scenery and gentle hikes (not mountain climbing) would be great. Any suggestions as to where to go or where to stay when we get there? We will be there in late June. Are the black flies really bad then? |

| Hi there, The Acadia Park offers a range of activities such as taking a guided tour given by the park rangers, hike, etc. In the evening, you can even attend a lecture or concert at the park’s amphitheatre. Moose wander into Acadia only on rare occasions as their habitat is not on ocean coastline but boggy-wetlands such as the lakes and mountain regions. Black Flies have the annoying habit of swarming around your head and they can bite and leave you marked with little blood splots so, they are actually worse than mosquitoes. The usually appear mid May and mid June time. Hope this helps Vacationbuddy
