Mexico

Mexico is home to great beaches in Cancun or Cabo San Lucas but it is also home to the Mayan ruins, Chichen Itza. Experience the culture during the Day Of The Dead festival or take one of the many Mexico Tours.

Question Bus travel from Puerto Vallarta to Acapulco

My wife and I plan to travel from Puerto Vallarta to Acapulco in May 2007. What type bus service is available? Are the buses well maintained and clean? Are there express buses? How much time does it take for this trip? What do you see? i.e. coast line, towns, etc. Thanks

I've not taken this bus route but what I do know are they are not tour buses but transportation buses so you won't be touring the hotspots. The bus route will go to the main cities along its route and dropoff/pickup passengers. Don't expect to see alot of the coastline. I've been on the bus from Ixtapa to almost Acapulco (I was heading to Taxco ) and it was nothing to speak of for sights. The bus was nice, clean, and cheap.

Here's several of the first class bus lines:
ADO, Omnibuses de Mexico, and Primera Plus

The luxury buses are usually called Clase Lujo or Clase Executivo. Here's a link:https://www.ticketbus.com.mx/ticketbus/eng/index.jsp

I can't see a way to post a new thread on this site so I thought I would reply here, but I have a question regarding train travel from Cancun to Ixtapa and back again. Is it possible and what does it cost? And where are the stations located?
