Mexico

Mexico is home to great beaches in Cancun or Cabo San Lucas but it is also home to the Mayan ruins, Chichen Itza. Experience the culture during the Day Of The Dead festival or take one of the many Mexico Tours.

Default Buying Silver in Taxco

My husband & I are artists from the Buffalo New York area & would like to go to Taxco Mexico to purchase large volumes of silver chains & sheet silver & charms.
Can anyone tell me where to start with this project? Should we stay in Taxco or Mexico City? What hotels can you suggest?
Is there anyone that we can contact about the purchase before we go to Taxco? Are there specific names & telephone numbers of people or companies that we can contact?
Please anyone that has any information on this subject at all please contact us.

Nuestra Tierra offers a wide selection of jewelry that includes painstaking handcrafted replicas of classic Spratling and Aguilar designs as well as more modern designs by contemporary artists. Signed pieces include those by Sigi Pineda, Daniel Espinosa and Sergio Bustamante, http://www.nutierra.com/products/jewelry.html and there is another site http://www.caramba.com.mx maybe you could contact this two places and even if they don`t have what you are looking for at least they can give you advice or even tell you the right place to go, but it`s a start, I hope this helps! Good luck.
Some links that could help you when you go : Airlines to Mexico, Taxco Hotels, Shopping Mexico.

Hi,
I am an import wholesaler of silver jewelry from Taxco and lived in Mexico for 25 years. You need to stay in Taxco as it is a 2 hour drive from Mexico City and Taxco has clean simple hotels. I recommend Aqua Escondido on the main plaza with reasonable rates and if you tell them that you are a silver buyer for business they give you a discount. The people are frriendly and accomadating. I know all the big wholesalers and although I have never purchased sheet metal and I can locate a source for you. If you want to email me I can give you lots more information. I just happened to stumble onto this website but it is not one I visit frequently. If you need more help email me at jkrulish@aol.com and list Taxco Silver in your heading so that it doesn't go to spam. Jody
