Are all resorts so high pressure? They must be everywhere, my wife and got an offer on 5 nights and 6 days in Cancun at an all inclusive resort the Sunset Royal. At first there was to be no sales pitch. As the time came for us to head down there we were informed that we would have a 90 min. presentation with no strings attached, yeah right! We choose to get it done the next morning after arriving. We met with our guide/salesman and had breakfast. He told us he didn't want to know if we wanted or not want what he was offering until he was done with his talk. He said a nice quiet no would be sufficient if we didn't want what he was offering. We held out till the end and my wife told him using his words a nice quite no. He pretty much lost it and started offering us lower prices for time shares, each time we answered with NO. He got mad and left after passing us off to another sales person in a different room. Each time we said NO we were put in a smaller room with a bigger salesman. After the 5th salesman my wife yelled at him and said "do I have to stand on the table and scream NO! This salesman took our name out of the drawing for a free vacation and to us we could go.
We met a couple from Canada a few evenings latter and the told us of there ordeal. They were offered in the end a vacation property instead of a time share witch the bought. I was a lot less then what we were offered and I am not sure if they realized what the ended up with. |
