Minnesota is great all year long, though autumn to experience the fall foliage is one of the best times you can visit the state in my opinion.

Having said this, the weather is lovely during the spring and summer so it's also a great time to be in Minnesota and you will be able to enjoy many outdoor recreational activities such as hiking, wildlife spotting and kayaking in Voyageurs National Park.

I lived in Minnesota for 25 years. You can still get snow in April. The temperatures in June through September are typically in the 70s and 80s. There is a heat wave in the upper Midwest right now.

There are beautiful forests in northern Minnesota and lakes everywhere. Be aware that the mosquitoes will carry you away if you venture into the woods in the summer. Be prepared for bugs.
