Montana's Glacier National Park

Hi, my cousin's family from Chile is planning a trip to Glacier Park, Montana in September and wondering is September a good time to be able to experience Glacier? which is the special time to go?just they have planned not book the tickets yet. thanks for any information you provide.

As of I know, late April or early May would be the best time and one of my colleague visited recently and she said it was excellent, the park is open all year around but it is closed due to snow from fall through early summer, so visit in summer, that's a good idea:)

As far as what is the best time to go there, it depends on what you are trying to see. The elk and some of the other animals come into "rut" around October so they are very active and you can see large herds of them but you also will have to face colder weather and possible blizzards and snow. The summers are mild there so that is a good time to go as far as weather is concerned but that is also the busiest time of year and traffic can be a problem. The scenery is great all year, it just depends on your preference, do you like snow covered landscapes, or the wildflowers or spring etc.?

I know it's a little late, but know that the Park Service is closing the Going to the Sun Road on September 15 this year around Logan Pass for road repairs/
