|  is visiting Kathmandu a must? we're planning a on taking a Nepal trekking trip in September or October, and I was thinking if visiting Kathmandu is must when going to Nepal? |

|  Re: is visiting Kathmandu a must? I'd say besides the Himalayas, Kathmandu is the next reason why most people come to Nepal if you aren't doing trekking or climbing. Depending how long you plan to stay in Nepal, you will realistically be able to visit Kathmandu, but of you have a few days to spare do make the trip here. You'll be able to book Kathmandu tours and visit the city's cultural heritage sites such as the Sagarmatha National Park, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swyambhunath, Boudhanath and Pashupatinath Temple. |
