Smile Amsterdam is great in October

Amsterdam is great in October..i think is one of the best months of the year as the summer crowds are long gone and you can truly get a taste of the real Amsterdam. Amsterdam is so touristy year-round from June through early September that it gets so jammed with people that you feel like you're in theme park every day.

By October the main sights are easy enough to see in just a couple days, and the mild weather continues to be conducive to spending time walking around, as long as you don’t mind some light rain now and then.

Default where to stay in Amsterdam

the Rembrandtplein and the Leidseplein district are popular nightlife areas of Amsterdam, so if you want to be near lots of bars, clubs and restaurants your best bet is to stay there. Rembrandtplein and Leidseplein also boasts many inexpensive lodgings to suit all budgets and tastes. The Red Light District is also not far from this districts, though I wouldn't choose a hotel that close to the RLD as it's notoriously noisy at night!
