Nevada is home to Las Vegas but it houses much more than that. Ski at Lake Tahoe, cruise Lake Mead, or relax at the Carson City Hot Springs Resort. View the striking red sandstone formations at Red Rock Canyon. Enjoy the hiking, and biking in the area. Nevada is a state with legalized casino gambling and cities like Reno also have tables and slot machines.

Any idea of what conventions will be in town for April 2008?

My guess is they will be posted on this list but I don't see them yet.
Las Vegas Conventions List

The only large convention I'm aware of is NAB2008 April 12-17, 2008 which ususally draws 100,000.
