State of Nevada attraction

hello, soon on a summer trip to Nevada and looking forward to it..what attractions u say to visit on the State of Nevada?

hi there,

Nevada possesses a wealth of historical sites and natural beauty and 'spooky' attractions. For example, Groom Lake, also known as Area 51 is a secret military facility 90 miles North of Las Vegas. The site was developed in the 1950s for the testing of the U-2 Spy Plane.

As a result, the highway that runs near Area 51 is known as The Extraterrestrial Highway and it is one of the most "visited" roads in the United States as people claim UFO sightings in this area.

Nevada is a LARGE state and to see it all would require many days. Just the "small" county of Washoe (with Reno and Lake Tahoe) is over 6,600 square miles!

But, there are statewide highlights that people come to see.

1. Las Vegas, and the Strip.
2. Hoover Dam and Lake Mead
3. Lake Tahoe
4. Reno
5. Pyramid Lake (a true, prehistoric desert lake)
6. Great Basin National Park
7. Virginia City (of Ponderosa TV show fame)
8. Lehman Caves
9. Red Rock Canyon conservation area
10. Highway 50's towns and attractions along the way....
