If you're traveling in a big group you will find that the drive to atlantic city will be a blast with friends or relatives, though the only downside is that you will have to get a large SUV which are notoriously gas guzzlers and will cost you about $180 round trip from Atlantic City to NYC. Even then, I still prefer driving then taking the bus because nothing beats bonding while driving.

To get there from the North, major interstate highways connect with the Garden State Parkway South, to the Atlantic City Expressway.

From the South, I-95 to Delaware Memorial Bridge to Route 40 to Route 322. Or via Lewes, Delaware, take the Cape May-Lewes Ferry to the Garden State Parkway North to the Atlantic City Expressway.

From the West, via Philadelphia, Walt Whitman Bridge to North-South Freeway (Route 42) to Atlantic City Expressway.

someone mentioned catching a flight to Atlantic City from NYC which is ridiculous! First of all, there are no direct flights between NYC and the Atlantic City, and even if there were it would still take longer to get there than hopping on a bus or train. Btw, the train is the best way to get to Atlantic City of NYC as it goes directly from New York’s Penn Station and Atlantic City’s Express terminal....and it only costs around $60 for a round-trip ticket.

it is almost 140 miles away .. it takes you at least three hours to reach there...
