| SAS1, I've made this trip about 100 times in my life. It takes 2.5 hours on average to drive from NYC to Atlantic City. On off peak travel times like later at night or early am you can do it in 2 hours. Traveling from Atlantic City to New York City, you'll take the Garden State Parkway North to the NJ Turnpike North to the Lincoln Tunnel and you arrive in Midtown Manhattan. Avoid Rush Hour and New Jersey Northern points arrival time. Asbury Park, Long Branch etc PS - you may want to consider the new Express Train from AC to NYC that will beging this spring 2008. | I think the bus or train is best if you want to get to New York City from Atlantic City. Both Megabus and Greyhound Lucky Streak do this route for around $25 one-way, though Greyhound's round trip web fare is cheapest by $5. By train, you have the Atlantic City Express Train Service which departs from New York Penn Station and costs around $35 round-trip. |

| If you're staying at the Trump Plaza or Caesars I'd suggest getting the bus as the greyhound buses that drop you off right outside these hotels. Otherwise, the train isn't that much more expensive than the bus and you will get a better and more comfortable ride. Btw, if you're visiting Atlantic City on a day trip, don't bother spending an entire day there...trust me you will get bored in Atlantic City after a couple of hours after visiting the casinos and the tacky shops on the boardwalk. |

| hey ACHotelExperts, how on earth did you manage to drive between NYC and Atlantic in 2.5 hours? it takes at least 3.5 and that's at a fast pace. Anyhow, I have to agree with everyone that the Atlantic City Express Service (ACES) is the best and most convenient way to get from the City to Atlantic. I've done the drive too and I can tell you that the direct train is really quick as the trip trip takes about 2½ hours. You can catch the train from New York City's Penn Station and Atlantic City's Rail Terminal. |

| If were you I'd hop on one of Lucky Streak buses as they offer front-door service to many of the most popular casinos in Atlantic City. Lucky Streak buses are easy and affordable (around $34.50) and their round-trip fares are open-ended, which allows you to return home at any time. Btw, you can also change your departure location, or day, without any extra costs. |
