Long Beach Island

I am reading a lot of posts that are looking for some recommendations on a nice beach area in NJ. If you are new to New Jersey and are looking for a family vacation spot, you might want to look into a house rental on Long Beach Island. It is within driving distance of Atlantic City...it takes about 30-40 minutes by car depending on where you are on the island. There is also a boat trip that takes you roundtrip for a day trip. While you are on the island, they have great beaches, boating/fishing, an amusement park, lots of shopping, miniature golf, etc. I can't really give a recommendation on where to stay though. I have always stayed with relatives that own a home on the northern end of the island. My favorite area is Love Ladies, but it is a bit far from the amusement park area if you have children.
