|  rafting trips in New Mexico when is the best time to visit New Mexico for enjoying fun rafting trips, and what are the rapids like for intermediate/ experienced levels? |

|  Re: rafting trips in New Mexico The official New Mexico rafting season runs from mid-April through the summer, though I'd suggest heading here in late summer as the waters will be warmer. You will be able to enjoy everything from nice family rafting trips to heart-stopping whitewater rushes. If you're looking for different type of rapids, the Rio Grande is the place for this. The Rio Grande has several sections that range from Class II to Class IV+ such as the wild and scenic Taos Box, which is an excellent IV class section, while the Racecourse Run is great for beginning rafters. |
