Hi, I have to attend a conference in New Mexico during the last week of September. The conference is at Roswell, New Mexico and I need to stay there 5 days including weekend. I’m looking for some suggestions of cheap, good spots for lunch, as well as any sightseeing places in and around Roswell. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find out more about this? Thanks.

Roswell, New Mexico has pretty good places for lunch with excellent New Mexican and Mexican fare in addition to the standard Americana and steak restaurants. This includes the Hazel’s Restaurant, Roger’s Restaurant, Chews West; Mc Donald’s and lots more. There are many places to see in Roswell, New Mexico that you can never afford to miss it such as the Bottomless Lakes State Park, Lea Lake and Spring River Zoo are really worth visiting.

I lived in Roswell for three years. For restaurants the choices are vast. Cattle Baron's Steakhouse, Cattleman's Steakhouse, the restaurant at the Best Western Sally Port Inn is good, IHOP, Denny's, Applebee's, Chili's, Red Lobster, Tia Juanna's, Farley's is good, kinda loud, though, and there's plenty more.

I notice no one's mentioned sightseeing, yet, so I'll suggest the UFO Museum. It's a hilarious little place that mixes facts about the early 1950s UFO sighting in Roswell and lots of humour involving aliens. I haven't been there since about1996, but I'm sure it's only gotten better since last I saw it.

Since no one's mentioned any sightseeing attractions, I'll suggest the UFO Museum. It's a hilarious little place that mixes facts about the UFO sighting in the early 1550s with humour about extraterrestrials. They've got a gift shop with every imaginable alien-related toy. Definitely worth going on a lark.
