| Moderator Jr Member | Big news out of New York today. The Statue of Liberty is getting an upgrade! Lady Liberty will close on October 29 for a renovation and will stay closed for a year. It should take a year to complete the $27.25 project and she will reopen a year later. A dedication ceremony is planned to coincide with the statue's 125th year.

| Lady Liberty looks good. why is she closing down for a whole year? Unless she has some internal issues but otherwise why should taxpayers pick-up the bill? Also, what about all the tourist that flock to New York City just to see the Statue of Liberty? I don't really know why they need to close here for an entire year...go figure:( |
