| Moderator Jr Member | Long in the works, the 9/11 Memorial is getting closer to opening. It's still a work in process, but the first phase of the9/11 Memorial are opening this September 11, the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks. The first phase is an outdoor memorial, with walls etched with the name of nearly 3,000 victims, as well as two reflecting pools that stand in the footprints of the twin towers. It's free to visit, but you need a ticket to enter. They're available at www.911memorial.org. Next year, the 9/11 museum is slated to open next year in 2012. The foundation that watches over the site has been collecting artifacts, including the 70-foot architectural elements that once formed the gothic arches of the World Trade Center. In 2013, One WTC, formerly the Freedom Tower, is expected to open. It will have an observation tower, office space, and other elements.

| I dont understand the advantage of constantly remembering and mourning 9/11. We dont do it for other events like the Oklahoma Bombings, Pearl Harbor or D-Day, do we? I think remembering like this produces more hate which is what got us in some very long-term, high casualty wars against cultures with such high tenacity that they will never truly be defeated, so why keep carrying on a tradition that has no purpose other than to fuel that burning hate? |

| The 9/11 Memorial this year is a bit of a shambles to be honest.... apparently, the survivors who fled the burning Twin Towers have not been invited to the 10th-anniversary of remembrance of the terror attacks because there's no room at the new 9/11 Memorial, can you believe that? I cannot imagine that New York city has no facilities to receive all the family members and survivors of this terrible tragedy. |

| Some of the greatest ideas gets born from diversity, but unfortunately after a while capitalism takes over... it is always sad that some think there are a buck to be made out of others grief. |
