 |  Restored carousel opens in Brooklyn An old carousel has new life thanks to artist Jane Walentas. The carousel, which dates to 1922, is now located in Brooklyn Bridge Park. It's now called Jane's Carousel. Jane and her team spent more than 20 years and a lot of money carefully restoring this gem. Jane joined mayor Bloomberg and other officials for the grand opening of the carousel last Thursday. It's sure hard to beat those views!

|  Idora Park Carousel I praise Jane Walentas for what she's done with the what is now "Jane's "Carousel". However, the carousel along with all of Idora Park should have never left Youngstown since it was a symbol of Youngstown. No matter what, I am and will be the biggest fan of Idora Park...thank you Jane for restoring it. R.I.P. Youngstown and all the great people who lived there. |

| Re: Restored carousel opens in Brooklyn Ah, I wasn't aware of the back story beyond Jane purchasing it at auction. It is a bummer for Youngstown, that's for sure!
