New York

New York, one of the original thirteen colonies, is filled with popular culture as well as historical venues. Visit the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, and Niagara falls. It's a busy city with events held at Madison Square Garden, Time Square and exhibits at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Travel throughout the city is just as easy as hailing a cab or catching the subway and trains.

Default Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

This is one of the best things to go see in NYC if you are in the city. This year marks the 80th anniversary and a milestone as the longest running show on Broadway. This year also introduces Macy's Great American Marching Band. Be sure to get there early and enjoy yourself.

I will actually be coming to NYC for the parade this year...I have always wanted to do this and decided to make it happen...of course, I will be hitting the big party at crobar the night before!!...from what I gather, my schedule will most likely look like this:

Nov 22:
3pm - central park to watch the balloons get inflated, along with my ego as I begin lift the drinks one by one...
6-9pm nap
11pm - crobar party (and then wandering through the clubs in the MP district until...
Nov 23:
5:30am - go directly to parade, head spinning to help enhance the experience

maybe a turkey dog for thanksgiving day meal??
sound about right?
LOL

Oh, then the Cowboy game, of course...go boys!

Sounds like a great plan but a turkey dog as a Thanksgiving meal? That's the one time of the year you should just sit and eat....all day long!

You got any tips for those traveling to the parade? What's the best way to get there? I'd imagine that'd be packed early!

I heartily endorse the idea of a turkey dog for a thanksgiving meal, and you can wash it down some Jones Soda's thanksgiving flavors. I can't help but laugh every year they pull these out. "Dinner Roll Soda." "Pea Soda." "Antacid Flavored Soda."

Gotta love America.

I used to stay at my uncle's apartment in Manhattan and watch from the window, the whole parade would go right down his rd. One of the few things I miss about NY winters is the parade but I can still watch it on tv. I would recommend trying to stay somewhere relatively close to the parade location otherwise getting into Manhattan is almost impossible.
