Question best place to learn about Maori culture

hey people!, A few of us are arranging a trip to New Zealand in mid January. For 25 days, we're planning to explore as much as we can.

One thing I'd like to know is the best place to learn about Maori culture in New Zealand..any ideas?

hello,

One of the best place to learn about Maori culture in New Zealand is Rotorua.

In Rotura district, you will find the Rotorua Museum of Art and History where you can learn all about the city's history here.

Another great Rotorua museum can be found at the Buried Village of Te Wairoa where you can enjoy guided tours of the Maori excavated sites found here.

Then, just 15 minutes outside of town, you can tour a re-creation of a pre-European at the Tamaki Maori Village & Realm of Tane.

I think there are Maori museums in Christchurch, you can visit these to know more about their culture. There are also several live demonstrations done from those coming from the Maori tribes that you can also watch.
