Experience the main cities of Newzealand during your Newzealand vacation, better visit Auckland, Christchurch & Rotorua. Book a flight ticket from Malaysia to Auckland and stay at one of the Auckland hotels for 2 days. Visit Auckland Zoo & Kelly Tarlton's Antarctic Encounter & Underwater World and do mountain biking excursion. Then fly to Rotorua and plan your stay for 2 days here. Even 2 days are not sufficient to explore this beautiful city but you can book Rotorua day tour and explore the must see places including Ngaruawahia, Waitomo Glowworm Caves, Agrodome Farm Tour, Rainbow Springs Nature Park and Te Puia Thermal Reserve. Just visit Rotorua hotels for your accommodation needs. Then fly to Christchurch and rent a car to travel around this garden city or buy a day pass and visit Aquarium of Discovery, Victoria Square, Botanic Gardens etc., With the day pass, you can see the must see attractions around the inner city. To find a good place to stay, have look at Christchurch Hotels page. I think you can end up with whale watching trip in Christchurch. Whale Watch is located in the town of Kaikoura which is just 2 1/2 hour drive north from Christchurch, so don't miss it, I love whale watching, hope yo too! have a nice Newzealand vacation:)

Yes, you are certainly right, Nelson has wonderful golden beaches and especially the Tahunanui beach is very popular summertime vacation spot for every tourist of Newzealand. As well as excellent beaches, Nelson offers national parks, wineries, waterfront cafes, fresh seafood and a lot more. So explore the Nelson beaches and have a wonderful vacation.

It depends on what you want to do and see during your holiday. 8 days ould be enough to have a look around the top of the south island maybe even visiting Kaikoura but if you were thinking about seeing the whole country then you would need a lot longer.

8 days is not enough in any country :) New Zealand is probably the most beautiful country on earth, its like Europe without any people. Lots of forests and mountains, and almost empty. South Island is stunning, and worth hiring a car for to see it all. 8 days you could spend just around Queenstown though, New Zealand offers so many activities and sightseeing. If you have just that, i recommend picking one place (say queenstown or christchurch) and basing youself out of there to do 1-day trips.
