Question New Zealand weather

Hi,
We're looking at traveling to New Zealand during the summer time and I wanted to gather some input from you guys before heading there. I presume weather wise should be fine, right? Also, what about airlines and getting cheap tickets?

Thanks again

Hi Orlinsey,

New Zealand is located in the Southern Hemisphere, so the seasons are the opposite of what they are in the Northern Hemisphere.

December through February is the summertime in New Zealand and it is the best time to enjoy the Island if you are planning a beach holiday, fishing, etc.

June through August is the winter time and cities like Queenstown and Christchurch are very much alive during this time, as these are two of the New Zealand cities that are found near some of the country’s best ski areas.

The South of the Island experiences the most noticeable seasonal changes, specially during the winter months when the temperatures can go below zero.

Finding cheap flights to New Zealand might be hard to come by, but If you want to get a good deal, book well in advance, check prices for different airports, and try to avoid the busy tourists months (December to January).

Hope this helps

June through August is the winter time while December through February is the summertime. Cheap air tickets to New Zealand is not a routine affair however some airlines gives some discounts seeing the drop in occupancy ratio. Better you book your tickets in advance to get attractive discount.
