Default Re: Thins to do in Winston Salem

I would recommend visiting Tanglewood Park. Here you can make use of the paddle boats and canoes, Play golf (apparently Winston is Golfers Paradise) & tennis or just lay by the pool, You can also try horseback riding or whatever else.

For dinner you eat at the village tavern which has excellent food in a luxurious setting. You can sit out on the patio with lights and candles all around you. Or if you are in the mood for pizza, Mellow Mushroom located on 4th street downtown has everything you want!

For nightlife, downtown winston is the place. There are many bars you can check out like first street bar which is very classy. All of the bars should be in good walking distance to one other and if not cabs are easily accesible with a quick phone call!
The music concerts have brought a real feeling of festivity to the streets from May through Labor Day; making the summer a very fun time to come and get some live music.

Winston-Salem is a city rich with traditional heritage of early American culture and offers educational museums, beautiful gardens, and great attractions.

The first place on most people's stop is Old Salem which is a National Historic Landmark. Old Salem is one of the country's best colonial settlement villages restored as close as possible to its original splendor. Here you can tour the village, shop for old books, crafts and gifts. Visit the Old Salem Toy Museum, the Museum of Early Southern Decoratives Arts, the Old Salem Children's Museum. You can also visit the beautiful gardens and orchards here.

For more gorgeous gardens, head to Reynolda Gardens at the Reynolda House Museum.

If you are a wine lover you will have a huge choise as there are many vineyards you can viit. Touring and tasting is a major attraction in and around Winston-Salem. For a complete list of the vineyards visit the city's online tourist board.

Tourists can also check out what is playing at the Steven's Center, a beautiful venue dating back to 1929 and the North Carolina School of Performing Arts.
