Default Oregon Coast Vacation

Hello, we will be taking a family trip to Oregon in Mid December. We are planning for Oregon Coast Vacation and everybody in my family is very much eager about the trip. All members of our family are over 20 now, except for my two brothers, who are 9 and 11. How can we get them excited and interested about this vacation? Are there any good travel books or websites to find the information on sights and activities? Is there anything in Oregon that would be of particular interest to younger boys? Does anyone have any suggestions on Oregon Coast Vacation? Open to all suggestions.

There are lots of things to do on the Oregon Coast that will be of interest to young boys. A visit to Fort Stevens, the Oregon Aquarium, exploring tide pools, kite flying, the Sea Lion Caves, the Oregon Caves, the Tillamook Air Museum, dune buggy rides on the dunes near Florence, visiting light houses, and much, much more

My husband and I are planning a trip to Oregon in August for 10 days, flying into Portland.
We want to go to Mount Hood area then on to Crater Lake area then on to Coast.
How long should we stay in each place?
