Oregon day trips

hey people, we'll be in Oregon this summer for 15 days at least, we'll be mainly around the coast but would love to do some day trips...does anyone know of any Oregon day trips?

hi there,

One of my favorite Oregon day trip is at the Crater Lake National Park. During the summer in particular, Crater Lake is ideal for hiking and guided tours by the park rangers offering information about the flora and fauna.

Also, if you travel between the months of June and August, there are outdoor programs happening at the Mazama Campground each night at 9pm.

I like driving the Hood loop to mount Hood.

The Columbia River out east is also a nice drive.

The drive down the Oregon coast is beautiful. I have done it a couple of times and loved it.

Just following any of the rivers towards the coast is worth a day trip, Eugene to Florence is a nice drive as is Corvallis to Newport. These are scenic drives, from Roseburg to Reedsport is also nice, especially the Elk Viewing area.

Crater lake is one the best scenic areas to see in Oregon. It is in the middle of nowhere so be prepared especially in winter. They have some rail car tours or bus tours hat go around the lake.
