Las Vegas front desk tipping

So what's the etiquette for this? I know you're supposed to tip the bell boy (Is that what they're still called today?) and waiters and such, but what about the people who help you at the front desk? Should they be on the list of people to tip? If so, how much?

I used to work at the front desk at MGM and from experience most people would be very discreet doing the tipping thing as it's grounds for dismissal at MGM if front desk reps accept tips in exchange for upgrading.

You should tip bellboys around $1 per baggage you carry, and a bit more if they help you with taxis, etc. Overall, Vegas is a service-based city so tipping is a big, big deal, but always tip at your discretion and only for good service.
