Looks like Macau is on track to outstripping Las Vegas as the Gambling Capital of the World! Wynn Macau opened last week to much fanfare as Wynn looks to make Macau his next mark. Last year, Macau was about even with the Las Vegas strip, which made about $5.3 billion in income, according to figures from both places. Many analysts expect Macau to surpass the Las Vegas strip next year. Here's a photo of the new Wynn Macau

But it is still Wayyyyyyy behind Nevada in revenue. I think it is two different markets. The average american won't choose Macau over Vegas, the reason Macau is so profitable is 1 thing, The chinese...... Mainland china is not as thrilled as one might think with the situation due to all the crime that is coming with it..... it's hard to say at this point But I think Vegas will be OK just from name branding and image.......

But Macau is more like Vegas as Macau is a territory. If you look at the numbers Macau's gambling revenue surged to almost seven billion dollars in 2006, an increase of 22 percent compared with a year earlier. This means the tiny Chinese territory close to Hong Kong has moved ahead the Las Vegas strip as the world's largest gaming market in terms of revenue. The casinos on the Vegas strip had revenue of about $6.6 billion in 2006. This is with only two resorts opened the Wynn Macau and Sands Macau just wait until the remaining casinos are up and running it will far surpass Vegas and Nevada as well.

agreed, But from what I have read China is having problems with their Gov. officals taking "aquired" state money and gambling it away..... being communist they are one decision away from loosing the prime customer base......... Vegas will be vegas at least in Our lifetime.....that 6.6 billion is mostly from a market vegas would prob.not see anyway, but this is just my opinion, so.....
