|  thoughts on colon panama? what are your thoughts on colon panama? what is there to do there besides shopping at the free-zone? are hotels plentiful? |

| Re: thoughts on colon panama? I recommend visiting Colon Panama on a guided tour rather than basing yourself there. Besides Free Zone, you can enjoy a trip to nearby Portobelo where you can see some historic vestiges worth exploring, such as the San Lorenzo Fort. You can also visit the Portobelo National Park, where you can explore the offshore reefs and scores of lagoons on a scuba diving tour; relaxing by the beach, and getting up to some birdwatching. |
