arriving at Lima Airport

can anyone tell me how good or bad Lima Airport is? I've never flown there before and I am worried about customs, signage and security procedures, etc

Lima Airport is a modern airport boasting shops and restaurants so it has definitely has improved from the last time I flew in there. Immigration and security lines always experience delays but that's something you 're coming to expect from most airports nowadays. It can take anything from 30 minutes to 90 minutes to get through.

There are also many taxi stands as you exit the airport so be aware of dodgy taxi drivers and illegal ones. Green taxi stands are legit and charge reasonable fares for taking you to different parts of the city.

another thing as well, there is a $30 airport tax which is only payable in cash in either dollars or sols, so be sure to carry cash on you.

Do take an authorised taxi from inside the airport. There are fixed fares that you pay in advance. Do not take a taxi from outside the airport.

Airport tax is only $15 now, not $30. It has been reduced!
