mendoza to cusco via san pedro

Im going to Peru to do the Inca Trail in March and I will be travelling by bus and have some questions. Does anyone know how long time it woul take me to get to Cucso from Mendoza? And also Im thinking about going to San Pedro De Atacama in Chile for maybe 4 days. Is this realistic, timewise?

Any general tips about this stretch would be much appreciated!

You can do Mendoza Argentina to Santiago Chile by bus easy enough in around 8 hours. I went between Arica in the far north of Chile and that was over 20 hours from Santiago so if you stop in San Pedro you've still go a fair amount of ground to cover.

From Arica Chile you can get a bus that will take you over the border to the depot in Tacna and from there you will be able to get a bus straight to Cusco.

My trip took 3 days including waiting for connections so for your journey you can expect it to be also 3 to 4 days, so you'll have plenty of time in San Pedro.
