hi Continentalflightatendant, the Indian market (Mercado Indio) is located between 6th and 10th block of Avenida La Marina, Pueblo Libre of Lima. it opens daily from 9 am to 8 pm. I had done some shopping few years back and bought some handicrafts & souvenirs, they were very nice and the price was very cheap. You can also get even good paintings, wollen clothing & fashion jewellery. Hope this helps, have a nice time.

hello, I have visited my friend's place which is in Lima and she took me to Miraflores and Mercado Indio. Both has several handicraft shops and I bought silver jewelry at Mercado Indio. Even we visited Gran Mercado Inca, here I purchased alpaca jumpers and paintings for the cheapest price. shopping in Lima is a good expereince, so you can even try your shopping at Miraflores & Gran Mercado Inca.

Be careful when shopping in Polvos, specially for things like sport shoes. Some will try to sell pretty nice replicas of popular brands. They appear the same, but are very different in comfort after a couple of hours of use! If you're into technologies, you might want to check-out Wilson (near the Shearton) similar to Polvos, but technology oriented! Pretty nice!
