Facebook Timeline Cover Photos

We have a new Facebook app where you can download free cover photos for your Timeline. Once you have the new layout set up, check out our Free Cover Photos page, and pick out a panoramic shot of some of the world's best travel destinations. Instructions for how to download and add the pictures to Facebook are on the page, and there are several dozen to choose from, including shots of Machu Picchu, London, Paris, and more. Enjoy!

This is really cool! It is amazing how beautiful some destinations are. This will be better on my timeline than random pictures of me. ;) Thanks for the instructions too. I didn't know how to do that yet.

Hye guys, does anyone have any idea when would facebook timeline will launch, and how to set the new layout? Apparently, I read somewhere that only people with developer accounts will be able to use timeline...is this true?

The Timeline looks like it's launching for regular users (meaning those of us who don't have developer accounts) today—for real, this time. I had added the Timeline awhile ago and then took it down, but it came back for me this week, so I'm guessing we'll all be seeing it across the site pretty soon.

Once you get your Timeline, you get to pick a cover photo to put at the top of your profile, which can be a fun way to show off your favorite places or people. The Facebook cover photo will be about three times as wide as it is tall, so you really need to hunt for a photo that will look good even if only a strip of it appears in the new layout. Scenic shots like ones mentioned by Krainey work well. But remember that your main profile photo will be inset in the left-hand corner of the cover photo, so you’ll want the two photos to complement each other.

Facebook that suggest that you people will have a better experience viewing your timeline when they see a cover that is as unique and individualized as you are so if everyone is downloading the same images…well, you know the rest. Best you get a memorable photo of you on your birthday party, or friends, etc.

I've gotten tons of comments for my scenery shots that I posted at the top my Google+ page (that I'm not sure I care about), so I think that's up to you. I'm kind of shy and don't look like a model, so I'd rather post pretty scenery shots. :)

Awesome collection and Great bunch of photos! People can’t usually grasp the total beauty of destinations unless they see them from a low-flying aerial perspective. Nice work..
