carnaval spots in Portugal

we're traveling this February to attend Portugal's Carnaval season..what are your favorite carnival spots in Portugal

Yes, this year Portugal's Carnival falls between the 22nd and 24th of February. I know most big towns and some smaller villages celebrate the carnival and the Algarve region is the best place to enjoy the event since the biggest and most colourful Carnival spots take place in Loule and Lagos.

Though, I'd say that Lagos Carnaval is one of the best carnivals I have taken part in since kids, parents, grans, and even holiday-makers all contribute to make this such a great event.

If you are visiting Lagos during this weekend then make sure you are on the Avenida on the 22nd as this is a school day and when the procession will take place.

Another great spot to watch the carnaval procession and fireworks is on the bridge near the Marina.

The carnival in the town Torres Vedras is the best you can get .. the biggest and the most party!!
