| Things to do in Portugal There are many places in Portugal that you will want to visit, including Douro Valley. The best part of Douro Valley is its scenic views of vineyards and rivers. The Valley has 8 dams along its length which has left the water with a tranquil lake like appearance. The perfect place to unwind. Another place you will want to visit on your vacation to Portugal is the Parque National da Penada-Geres. This is the only National Park in Portugal. Here you can see wildlife roaming free, beautiful views and hiking trails. You can also swim, hike, ride horses, go mountain biking and canoe. Perfect for any outdoors types and a great way to enjoy the fantastic weather. Lisbon, Portugal is the perfect place to sample some of the local cuisine. There are many little café’s, restaurants and shops here, as well as museums and other cultural activities. It is worth taking a look at the The Gulbenkian, one of the worlds great art galleries. Or take the Fado Tour in Bairro Alto at Night where you enjoy a dinner in an authentic Portuguese Fado restaurant.
