Default Don't speak Spanish? No problem to visit the heart of Spain

It was amazing! Iīve been to Spain twice before but since I donīt speak Spanish, I never get to really talk, get to know much less make friends. If you're open, gregarious and willing to try new things

Spain is a big country and there are now a lot of English speaking Expats living along the Costas (the Costa del Sol and the Costa Blanca and Calida) near to cities such as Malaga, Valencia, Alicante and Murcia, which also have the best beaches and climate. For people afraid of visiting a country where language will be a barrier I would therefore suggest visiting these areas as a starting point.

I have personally lived here for 6 years and find that there's a good mix which enables me to get by in Spanish and make friends with the locals as well as enjoying the company of other expats and English speaking tourist.

There is more information about places to visit in Spain and the best time to go in the travel guides on the main Destination360 website.

It's not difficult to learn two or three words, then when locals can see you have a go they are very accommodating.

If you need to ask for directions always choose the younger generation who have learnt some English at school and generally they'll be more than happy for an excuse to practice their English on you, sometimes even when you'd rather they didn't.!
