Am planning a trip to Malaga, Spain Nov. 22-28. Flying out NY to Madrid then taking a train down to Malaga. Does any one know whether I should purchase a 4 days trainpass from here or in Spain? Is there any decent hotel in good location? Appreciate any suggestions and ideas.

Here's a couple suggestions. Tryp Alameda - a 4star business class hotel with a good breakfast we've had in Spain - a good selection of meats, fresh fruit & good fresh pastries. Very good coffee, too. www.solmelia.com. Location is not the best. The AC Malaga Palacio Hotel has a great location and easy to travel to via bus from the airport, take bus #19. With this hotel I'd recommend eating outside of the hotel if you're on a budget the food can be rather expensive. I'd heard reports about the Silken Hotel Puerta Málaga being a great value but have not stayed there personally. Write back if you need more info. Dan

Hi, I'm arriving at Malaga with my girlfriend on the 19th and we're planning to stay for a week. We're a couple of students just fnishing up on our exams and we're trying to have a relaxing week off. However, I haven't done much in terms of planning. I was wondering if anyone could help recommend me places for accomodation that would cost somewhere between 40-70 euros per night. Also, we're very much beach go-ers so anywhere close enough to the beaches would be appreciated. Also, what are the tourist attractions that we shouldn't miss out on? Finally, is the public transportation system reliable? because we would want to check out as many places as we can. By the way I'm sorry if I've come off rude with the amount of questions because I'm still improving my english as I'm from Brunei (South-east Asia) and english is very much a second language. Thanks very much in advance.

Hi Ziq, don't worry about your English...I think it's better than mine! Public transportation in Malaga is usually pretty safe and reliable, whether you're using a train or, more likely, a bus. As for where to stay, it might be tough to find places, but check this place out. It's near the beach and seems to be within your price range. I haven't stayed at this specific property but I have stayed at one of its sister properties and was happy with the service/value. Good luck!
