Hi there,

If you are traveling to Syria or any other part of the Middle East be aware that the holy festival of Ramadan takes place during September and October so all it is advised it is sensitivity to their customs, that is about it.

Many of Syria's attractions include the Church of St Simon and ruins at Qala’at Samaan. In Damascus you can visit the Umayyad Mosque which is the resting place of the most famous Arab leader Saladin.

You should also visit Syria's second largest city Aleppo which is also packed with museums, tombs, mosques and much more.

Hope this helps

Krak des Chevaliers is also one of the the important Syria attractions and it contains the best preserved examples of Crusader art, so worth a visit. Situated just 2 hours from Damascus, this Krak des Chevaliers is the largest and best preserved Crusader Castle in Syria, it's is still in very good condition even though it was built about 800 years ago. I always like to visit castles and in addiiton to Krak des Chevaliers, I have visited Margat Castle, Qasr Alheer Algharbi Castle & Mahalibeh castle recently. Syria castle tour is the best way to explore many of the Syria attractions. The Qasr Alheer Algharbi Castle is located 80 km southwest of Palmyra and placed on the Damscuss Road. This castle has a beautiful palace which is a a special attraction to the scholars of history and architecture. There are numerous castles in Syria including Bourzey castle, Chastle Rouge, Halabiye castle, Najm castle and Masyaf castle - all of them will give you some moments of unforgettable experience, so never miss to visit this Syria attractions when you visit the country.
