hi there,

May to October is the best time to visit Tahiti. The weather is cooler and there is much less rainfall. than November to April when is rainy and humid.

Tahiti's peak season is July and August, and during this period flights and accommodation are more expensive. Christmas to early January, late February and early March, the Easter period, early May and early October are also quite busy times.

Hi there,

Tahiti is expensive in terms of travel costs and living expenses. Flights alone tend to be a substantial cost and even the cheapest meal will set you back around $13.

Even if you're backpacking in Tahiti, cooking all your own meals and stay in the cheapest rooms possible can set you back around $70 per day.

If you're looking for more comfortable beds and wanting to take in a few restaurant meals and perhaps a cruise, you're looking at around $140 per day.

To save money and get best deals, try to book in advance. If you're travelling with the kids, many places offer half-price discounts for children under the age of 12.

Hi aiming56,
Even though Tahiti offers tropical weather year-round, the cheapest time for Tahiti vacations is during the low season, that is from January to March (but it's hot). You can find cheap airfares, specials on crusies and hotels offer packages with extra nights free. Peak season is from June-October when the rates will be higher, so if you are looking for reasonable rates, fewer tourists with good weather then visit from April to May.

We had our 3 weeks Tahiti vacation at Bora Bora last April and it was wonderful. Really Bora Bora is a stunning island with exotic beaches, but the rates are little expensive. We stayed at the Novotel Bora Bora Beach resort which is one of the affordable hotels in Bora Bora and paid $138/ night. We had a buffet and it was around 25$ per person. The hotel we stayed was located very near to the Tahiti beach, so we felt very comfortable for beach access and had more fun in our Tahiti vacation. Hope this helps and have a nice vacation in Tahiti!
