trip to the Great Smokies in March

we are thinking about visiting the Great Smokies in March to enjoy some much deserved outdoor activities. What kind of weather can we expect? Besides hiking, camping, etc; are there other attractions that I should be aware of?

The weather in the Great Smokies in early March is very unpredictable, especially in the higher elevations where you can get snow. If you plan to climb up, remember that in the higher elevations temperatures do drop 10 degrees or so.

A couple of attractions worth checking out include the Cherokee Indian Reservation, just south of the Oconaluftee Visitor Center. In March, you will be able to visit this village with Indian guides in native costumes who provide tours of the village for $12, which is well worth it if you want to learn more about their culture.
