best campgrounds in Austin

hi guys,

A few of us are planning a two week camping trip in Austin and we need your help in finding a suitable camping spot for us. we'd like ideally to camp somewhere near a lake for swimming and canoeing activities.
Also, preferably not too far from downtown Austin.

hi there,

One of the best camping places near a lake it's probably Lake Austin campground, located in Emma Long Metropolitan Park, right on the lake. The campground has boat ramps, over 50 camping spots with hook-ups, a large sandy beach and swimming area, showers and restroom facilities.

Another good thing about camping here is that it's only about 10 miles away from downtown Austin.
