day trips from Bangkok

we'll be going to Bangkok and staying there for 15 days. We would like to do a day trip from Bangkok as well, any recommendations of day tours that we could take?

You could either the Ayutthaya day tour or the Kwai day tour to see the infamous Bridge on the River Kwai. Both are great but I personally recommend a day trip from Bangkok to the ancient city of Ayutthaya since it takes just over an hour driving time to get there.

In Ayutthaya, you'll find a Tourist Visitor Center where you'' find free maps of the city with information on what to see. The National Museum is another great place to go to start your tour to get an idea of the city and where to go. It coast 150 baht to get in but it's worth paying the fee since you will get a really good introduction to the history and life of Ayutthaya up to the point it was burned to the ground.
