hi there, Thailand transportation consists mainly of buses, rental cars and trains. If you're staying in the rural parts of Thailand, you can also opt for elephant rides as a means of transport. Thailand also has a wide variety of two-wheeler transport including motorcycle taxis, so there's no need to worry when it comes to Thailand transportation options during your vacation. I would say, the bus is the best and most popular way to move around, specially for long distance travel. Buses in Bangkok can be distinguished by their color and class: -The ordinary red-stripe bus in Bangkok is very slow but cheap. -The air-conditioned bus service has typical blue-colored buses that are slightly pricier than ordinary ones. One of the best options is to select the metrobus in Bangkok. It is generally operated by private companies in conjunction with the BKS. The metrobus service charges a fixed rate and is favored by most tourists because it does not overfill seats.

If you want to get around the country, you can fly, go by bus, rent cars or motorbikes very easily. Make sure that you only rent from people who insure you and make sure that you look with them at the bike together before you rent it. There have been scams lately. People renting jetskies had to pay crazy money because someone told them they damaged the vehicle (it was an old damage however). You can get into huge trouble with stuff like that. Always with insurance and double proof if you rent something! They have VIP busses to go long distance. They usually are cheap. Book tickets always at the bus station and never from third party travel agencies as they scam so much! If you do all that you travel safe and comfortable with no further problems. If not, you`ll have an adventure ;) Cheers

As a fair warning, I would not just go the cheap route because buses here are the craziest drivers and constantly have accidents... they are narrow and tall and the drivers are lunatics. Sometimes, depending on your destination, you can find cheap airfare which is a safer and quicker bet... do compare because in Thailand the roads can be very dangerous. Not to say you can't have adventure--- but choose cautiously.
