| Hi, I will be traveling to Thailand for the first time and i am not sure what to expect in terms of food, cuisine and restaurants in Thailand. To be more specific, we'll be in Bangkok and I was wondering if you could tell me what to expect in terms of restaurants and if you have any suggestions? Many thanks |

| hi there, Traditional Thai food is spicy, but most tourist restaurants in Thailand serve less-spicy food to suit foreigners' tastes. Most Thai foods include coriander, lemongrass, and garlic, among other herbs and spices. Rice is one of the ingredients that serve as a base for most Thai cuisines. If you're staying in Bangkok, the capital offers an array of dining places for both luxury and budget-conscious travelers. There are more than 10,000 restaurants serving different European, Japanese, and Italian delicacies, but if you are looking for authentic Thai food, then a local Bangkok restaurant is the best place to eat. The Royal Dragon Restaurant boasts a large collection of fresh seafood along with Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and European cuisine. Hope this helps Vacationbuddy

| Nothing better then Thai food. Its really healthy and like a medicine because of the many spices they use. (See Vacationbuddies post). Its really good food. Be careful with the water - get your own drinking water. Take care with salads as cheaper restaurants wash the leaves with tapwater and you might end up with problems. Other then that you find good food from all parts of the world (sometimes you get things served Thaistyle though :). Normally they will always ask you: "spicy?" You better say "No" if you cant eat spicy. Medium is most of the time still very spicy for us. Hope you`ll enjoy it |
