I am planning a world cruise so I need global coverage and im looking for a sat phone that is light and portable..can anyone point me in the right direction?

Three of the best best satellite phone rental companies are Inmarsat, Iridium and Globalstar. Basically, they are all provide the same service, though I think Globalstar is the most cost effective choice of satellite phone rental because it uses a cellular phone network whenever possible, and switches to the satellite coverage only once the signal is lost.

Having said this, Globalstar hasn't got it all and has its cons such as that the coverage is somewhat limited compared to other sat phones.

It's best that you compare the companies and services to find the satellite phone that is right for you.

the Thuraya SO2510 Satellite Phone is very good, but as far as rental cpompanies the Iridium satellite phone rental is one of the best d you can get on a contract or opt for a Pay As You Go plan.
