How long does it take to get a Green Card

I am probably asking in the wrong place but I am hopeful someone could tell me and give me more info on this?

A green card is pretty much like a visa, although much more complicated to get. I think you can only apply for it after completing 5 years of residency, I believe.

Either way, how long it takes it depends on who you are and when you come from so, it could well take up to a few years. However, in most cases, you can obtain your green card in about 6 months.

I think the best way to get a green card is by being sponsored by a company in the US, so if a US company makes you an employment offer and your oversees, they'll make the whole process much easier for you to get into the states.
