How long does a passport take

Most people say it takes about 5 weeks but some people hae been telling me it is 8 weeks. Does anyone know how long does a passport take?

Well it depends where you're from. If you're American or British it would take somewhere between 4 to 10 weeks in my experience.

If you're in a rush in getting your passport done, I suggest doing through the expedited passport service which will take about 2-3 weeks door-to-door.

Getting a passport now a days has become very easy and quick process. As to apply for any service, the online procedure is there. It normally takes 4 to 5 weeks..

a US passport takes 3 weeks to process the normal way. If you want it expedited then, this service takes 2 weeks but costs $60 or more. The Post office notice will say that passports take 5 weeks or longer because they have to forward the application to the passport center then wait for it to be returned to them after processing.
