criminal background and visa my first post here.
i have a criminal record in a country (X) different from the one(Y) i am a citizen of. X is a very powerful nation, and every citizen there is constantly monitored electronically: therefore my crime is public knowledge and can be accessed over the internet. some special knowledge, however, is required, like , where in X did I stay etc.
having been deported from X, I struggled to establish myself and now a run a business in my home country. this business needs that i should frequently travel to other countries.
but in most visa applications there is a criminal background question. i do not want to lie; apart from awesome moral considerations, i wonder if lying will be a felony in the country(Z) i would be visiting. otherwise i would gladly lie.
no use telling them that X is a fucked up nation, either. i already did that in their courts, and look what happened to me.
my question is: If i am a citizen of Y, and have a criminal record in X, which does not even show on my passport from Y, why/how should Z bother/find out that i had a record in X? and if they do, will i be sent to jail there or just deported back to Y? i dont mind deportation, but never again will i go to jail for some stupid stuff.
PS- please refrain from moralizing. save that for your kids. |
