Default is Stonehenge worth seeing?

we'll be visiting Bath and London in our winter tour of the UK and we also wanted to include Stonehenge. Is it worth the detour? how much does it cost? I appreciate any suggestions. thanks!

Yes, definitely! Stonehenge is one of the top things to do in the UK and worth the trip from either Bath or London. However, do be aware of pricey organized tours from the capital. I suggest doing the trip by yourselves as it only costs $14 to get in.

I visited Stonehenge in late June and I would recommend to get there early if you want to get great photos without masses of people blocking your way! Trust me, by midday it gets so busy with tourist crowds that you won't enjoy there.

It's certainly one of the better sights in the UK, and definitely worth seeing. Yes i'd say go to it at your leisure rather than paying over the odds for a tour. And if you don't like it, there are some pretty cool towns nearby to check out!

I lived about a ten minute drive from Stonehenge for over ten years, and never visited...

We did a similar trip to the one you are interested in doing recently and covers the three areas you mention. It included all accommodation and coach travel to and from the destinations. The company also offer bespoke uk tours so you might be able to plan your own trip with them if you dont want to visit all the places on the route.

I'm not able to add a link due to the forum rules - im still a noob! But the company is based in the UK and called BOB Holidays. The trip we took was the first option on their list. Take a look.

Oh and I meant to say that yes Stonehenge is worth seeing. But I do agree that it is a good idea to get there early. We got there for about 8am and it was nice, but by 9.30 it was certainly getting busier.

That's cool to hear it's true that Stonehenge worth it. It's most visited during the solstices and is quite crowded, but I bet it's cool to celebrate with all those people on the first day of summer.

Default Stonehenge pictures

I think it's definitely worth seeing. I expect that pretty much any traveler who's checked out information has seen a lot of different photos of Stonehenge, but truthfully the pictures don't do it justice, both for the scale of the stone circle and seeing it in its surroundings. Plus Bath is a beautiful town and a great base for exploring the region.

Default don't bother with Stonehenge

depends how long you're in england? i personally think that Stonehenge is way too overrated for what it is...it takes about 2 hours to get to from central London...I wouldn't put a day aside to visit it if you're only a short time in London. Instead, it's best you concentrate on London's tourist attractions which are plentiful:)
