Default Re: traveling by train in the UK

I've explored the UK by train country wide and I can tell you that train travel is best. Car rental is tempting but it won't be as comfortable and economical as traveling by train.

The only drawback is that the Eurailpass is not valid in UK, though there are other money saving rail travel passes on offer such as the BritRail Pass.

This pass will give you unlimited travel between England, Scotland and Wales with no restrictions, so it is a great way to take advantage of cheap train fare in UK.

Arrow train travel in England

noone has mentioned the Network Card?...basically, anyone of any age can get a Network Card, which costs about £25 for the year, and gives you a third off most train fares in the south of England.

Also, if you're travelling with kids you can get the Family & Friends Railcard.
By the way, you could actually order the train tickets with the Railcard discount and then make sure you buy the card at the station you plan to take your first train.
