Cheapest way to get from London to Amsterdam?

I'm thinking that a quick flight may be the answer to this, but is that true?

You can get from London to Amsterdam either on a ferry, train, plane or cruise ferry. The plane is most expensive though lookout for season offers and reduce rates during shoulder months like September, february and May.

The cheapest way for me to get from London to Amsterdam is on the 'Dutch Flyer' train which includes an overnight ferry. It costs $40 each way on the train plus $29 for a single cabin on the ferry, and the entire trip takes 6 hours.

Another option to get from London to Amsterdam is by Eurostar which takes about 4 hours, and it's the most comfortable than flying imo..
